Snowden will address the European Parliament about the Datagate scandal

He will answer the MEPs questions by sending a taped video so as not to reveal his location
The formal decision of this audition will be taken on Wednesday by the Civil Liberties Committee

The Datagate mole, Edward Snowden, will testify in front of the European Parliament Inquiry Committee which is investigating the illegal NSA wire-tapping scandal. The news is not yet official but very probable. Jan Philipp Albrecht, a German Greens MEP, made the announcement, explaining though that “the basic political will is there” but now we must “see if we have the formal majority for an audition, hoping that Snowden will keep his promise by answering our questions.”

Making the decision will be the Parliamentary Civil Liberties Committee MEPs, who in July initiated an inquiry with dozens of auditions with the scope of evaluating the impact of the presumed CIA surveillance activities on its citizens and European politicians. The decision will come on Wednesday, but Snowden, who’s been chosen by the Guardian newspaper as Person of the Year, will not be present in person at the audition but will send the responses to the MEPs questions through a pre-recorded video to avoid disclosing the Russian location where he is hiding.
